I like to go thought-tasting at least once a day-it’s an amazing transformational habit! Imagine that you own a high-end wine shop in Europe that caters to wine connoisseurs, and you are known for providing all the new and old and exciting selections in wine. You are on a buying trip and you will select the best in taste and in value for your clients and customers. Except you aren’t selecting wine, you are selecting your thoughts. You are the connoisseur of your thoughts!

Mind Power of Focused Thoughts

Go ahead right now and savor some of the thoughts swirling around you. This one! No that one! That one is a little bitter. That one is too smoky. This one is light and fruity. Swirl the thought around a little in the palette of your mind. Clear your mind before accepting a new thought to try out. After a minute of so of thought tasting, select your favorite one!

Then drink in that thought sip by sip all day long. Mind Power!

Learning Dreams to Reality

Although these steps are simple, unfortunately most of us were not taught these steps. We were taught how to read, how to do math—but rarely has anyone taught us the life skill of how to bring dreams to reality. In addition, rarely has anyone taught us the skill of identifying what our dreams may be. Today we are going to trade in one belief system that we have identified yesterday that is not enhancing our dreaming process for one that does.

Practicing Dreams to Reality Steps

We are teaching you one day at a time how to turn your thought processes into a dream machine! So. today we would like you to think of a new belief that could replace the belief that you identified yesterday. Substitute a newer belief that is impeding you. It might be a belief that is saying that you do not deserve to have your dreams come true, as well as a belief that you are not good enough to be successful, or that you are never going to amount to anything. We want you to imagine in your thoughts that you are going to replace that belief with a more truthful, more life giving belief.

Practice New Beliefs and Thoughts

Think of a new belief and in your mind to replace that belief every time the old belief pops up. Sometimes I ring a bell or a buzzer in my head, when I hear or feel or sense that an old belief is kicking in. Then, I am able to substitute it with a happier, more loving, or productive belief. All I have to do is spend a few moments restated the belief to my subconscious. After 10 days, usually a new habit is formed and we do not have to think about it!

Believing is Seeing

You have probably have heard the expression, “Seeing is believing,” but I feel it’s a more truthful statement if we turn it around. “Believing is Seeing,” Considering the millions of pieces of information coming in each second of each day, we actually have match what we decide to see with what we already believe. We sift through and select what we see. However, we pay attention to what we see from what we already believe. That’s how strong beliefs systems are. So I like, “Believing is seeing.” First we believe it, and then we see it!

Our Thought Spring for Our Belief Systems

Our thought-step for today has to do with our belief systems. What is a belief system? A belief system is the foundation of every choice we make. The belief system is like the structural basis of what we hang our actions onto. It’s like the rafters that we build walls onto, or the chassis to which a car body is attached. So our belief systems may strongly affect our choices and actions.

Today we will identify one simple belief that we hold near and dear to our hearts. It doesn’t need to be a big belief, just pick on that comes to mind and contemplate that belief. These are thought-steps so you don’t need to do anything else but spend a minute or two thinking about it. Think of a strong belief that you hold. Therefore, think of the choices and actions you make, have made, and are likely to make because of that belief.

Identifying One Belief to Practice Seeing is Believing

So for example, if I believe that I am not good at math, am I likely to become a Math teacher? If I believe that I am uncoordinated, am I likely to want to be an athlete? If I believe that I am religious, will I pray when confronted with a near death situation? Notably, our belief systems affect our actions and choices.

Have you selected one belief? Then, I suggest hat you select one belief every day from here on out, and reflect on that belief for a minute or two. For example, contemplate how it affects your choices and actions. This is an important thought-step to take. As we shine the light of our thought-step awareness on each belief that we use, we will understand which beliefs are positive, negative, and truthful. In addition, we will realize which beliefs really serve us, and which ones undermine or enhance our true desires. Therefore, learn how “seeing is believing,” is actually believing is seeing.

Often when we try to think of what we would really want to do with our time and our life, and if we could make our dreams really come true, we draw a blank; and we just don’t know what we really want to do! We have a block—a cultural block. What if what I want to do doesn’t pay well? What if what I want to do, had too much competition? Then, our imagination fails Our culture has diminished the celebration of our imagination for a very long time. So today is the day to free your imagination.

How to Stimulate Imagination to Free Your Imagination

We are taught to squash the imagination from day one. As we grow up, our imagination needs to be handled in a certain way, or we will lose approval, status and credibility among our peers. Our imagination then is substituted with things that we should buy, have, or do, that actually serves others people dreams and pocketbooks too! (But not our own)

But imagination is the seed of our dreams. We must awaken our imagination to live fully again, if we want to conceive of the dreams that our hearts and soul desires. This thought-step is focused on reawakening your imagination. So to get yours flowing, we ask that you think of one wish you would ask if a genie came to you right now. If I Dream of Genie came to you, and you could ask her for any wish, what would it be?

Free Your Imagination

Just like all the other steps before this, thought-step 7 is a practice that will free your imagination if you practice it every day. What did you wish for? A million dollars? Take it to the next level … what would you do with the million dollars? What would you buy with it? How would it make you feel? Just think of one wish and follow it through its story line to imagine and feel what you would do with that wish.

Yesterday day and the day before we identified two types of desires, instant gratification desires and yesterday our own pure desires. Today we will ask you to take the new thought-step of substitution.

Trading in Old Thoughts for Newer Ones

Imagine you are going to a car dealership and you are trading in your older worn out car that is maybe leaking a little oil, has a little dent on the bumper, and perhaps the button on the radio isn’t working quite right. You are going to get a brand new car, with incredible gas mileage, beautiful gadgets, and that new car smell. You get in it drive it home, and wow, it just drives so easily and quietly, everything works effortlessly.

Build Momentum with New Thoughts

So that’s what we want you to do for today’s thought-step. You are going to exchange one run down instant gratification desires for a souped-up turbo desire. Remember, this is an easy 10-day thought step process, where we are working on changing our thought patterns to be more conducive to attracting our dreams to reality. We don’t actually ask you to change your behavior, or make any life-changing decisions or drop any serious addictions.

What We Do Starts in the Mind First

For instance, you are going to take out the trash. You think to yourself, I am going to take out the trash. Then, you have a need and a purpose for taking out the trash, and that purpose motivates you to action. You visualize in your mind when and how and where you will empty that trash before you actually take the action!

Just try doing something without first seeing it in your mind. I dare you! Let me know if you can do this, because that would defy natural law indeed. Taking out the trash example a simplified version of anything and everything you do. First you have the thought of doing it, and then you are inspired to action by a purpose or need.

Identifying Your True Desires

Today we are looking at desire, but not the desire of instant gratification, and not the desire of someone else’s dreams infused into your life style. Today in our thought-step we ask you to identify just one desire that drives you or that did drive you in the past.

This desire is very pure, and it has passion and joy associated with it. Sometimes you can look to hobbies to identify this desire, or you can look to those things that you have found yourself lost in when you are doing them.

Hours have gone by, and you didn’t even realize it!

So today, identify just one pure passionate desire that is a unique part of you. Perhaps you always loved to play music or write poetry, or cook. Somewhere along the line life got too busy, and it fell by the wayside.

Your Talents and Gifts Lead You to Your Pure Desires

But it’s never too late to resurrect a talent, a gift, a passion, and a true desire. I found my passion to write just 4 years ago once my daughter graduated from college. Since then I have written and published 10 books of my own, and helped some other 75 books of others to be published as well! It was a true and pure desire of mine, unfulfilled for decades!

Do Your Desires Drive YOU or do YOU Drive Your Desires?

Have you ever felt like you don’t have the oomph to do what it takes? I have. And, usually it’s because I am using my oomph to do what it takes for stuff other than my dreams. We are conditioned by those who can afford to buy advertising that we need to trade our dreams for instant gratifications. Your desires drive dreams.

Desires Drive Dreams Which Allows You to Follow Your Heart

So, I ask you, do your desires drive you or do you drive your desires?

The purpose of this thought-step is to identify just one desire that you are fulfilling for someone else. Obviously, desire to smoke cigarettes or use up gobs of time watching TV are fulfilling other people’s dreams. Consider this: desires drive dreams! Your true desires often lead you to follow your heart.

I smoked when I was younger, so I use smoking as an example. When you buy that pack of cigarettes or watch that TV for hours on end, instead of using money and time for your dreams, you short-circuit them. You could start a home based business, or instead of TV consumption time write your dreams book, or travel. Obviously, the desires for instant gratification are competing with our true desires of our heart.

Follow Your Heart of Follow Instant Gratification?

We aren’t trying to change behavior with these thought-steps. Notably, this series is designed to create new thinking habits, as we are not suggesting therapy or any behavior modification. Therefore, when we bring these things up, it is only to increase awareness. Consequently, this powerful awareness will lead you develop more truthful thought patterns. Additionally, this is a very simple mini-course—not expensive in terms of time or money. Plus, the goal is to teach you to take thought-steps and in 10 days to change the way you think to a more positive way of thinking.

Follow Your Heart to Bring Your Dreams to Reality

This 10-day thought-step program is designed to change your habits about how you think about your life. Do you often feel that your efforts go unrewarded? Do you ever feel that people take advantage of your kindness? Plus, do you also feel that no one appreciates you? Do you ever wonder if you are sabotaging your best life?

The Definition of Insanity by Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results! Obviously, if we use that definition—most of us have been acting insanely, including myself! This is one of my favorite quotes because it is so true!

With this thought-step we will identify those things we are doing over and over again that aren’t working! Moreover, this is such a simple brilliant concept, we are often very distracted with chasing results. Therefore, we do not see that we are like rats on a treadmill! Ha! Indeed, I’ve done it, so many times, so I do not exclude myself.

Stopping Insanity–Just Becoming Aware of the Insanity Can Break it

This thought-step will help us to become aware of those things we are repeating and just notice them. Hmmmm. I keep dating the same type, and I am not finding a serious relationship. (Maybe “your type” of date is the same, repeating “unavailable type.”) Or hmmmm … I can never seem to please my boss, no matter what I do, the harder I work, the less I am appreciated. (Maybe I’m too available and he does not completely realize how much I really do).

These are just some examples of repeating patterns hinder our ability to bring our dreams to reality. Let’s just take one minute and find one repeating situation that isn’t bringing results we really want or deserve. This is a mini-series and we only ask that you do one thought-step. Therefore, just pick one idea that feels like insanity, and notice it. Just notice it.

Here’s a Little Secret to Overcoming Negative Thought Patterns

Overcoming negative thought patterns is critical to bringing your dreams to reality. So, before we begin this fun and inspiring journey into yourself, I am going to let you in on a ‘little secret,” which is, I think, probably my biggest secret. Are you ready? Listen up, because this is actually huge. You do not need massive discipline to make this work.  You simply need a plan and a bit of inspired action. What appears to be hard-core discipline from the outside, actually is a manifestation of your inner inspired action! So let’s go get inspired, one day at a time …

Take Baby Steps to Launch Your Courage

I am not going to lie to you. This series is really simple—just not easy. However, we teach mini thought-steps, so we are just going to talk a little about courage in this first thought-step. Courage is not the lack of fear but it is pushing through fear. For sure, some of you will be so ready to feel the fear and do it anyway! Others will want to go more slowly. However, just know it is normal to experience fear when stepping out of your comfort zone. But we aren’t going to step out of our comfort zone; we’re going to do something else. Read on and you’ll see.

Expanding Your Comfort Zone Beyond Negative Thought Realm

For this first step we want you to meditate, concentrate, or just simply take one minute out to feel the fear of leaving of your present comfort zone. Close your eyes. Feel your comfort zone. Feel how warm and fuzzy and cozy you feel in that comfort zone space. Now feel your comfort zone being stretched. Now feel the fear of loss of your comfort zone. Feel your bigger, more spacious comfort zone. And now feel the feeling of your dreams came to true.

Then next, consider trading your cozy comfort zone for an expanded one that will fit that dream. Think about that dream come true being one and fitting inside your newer bigger comfort zone. So feel that fear of letting go of the old comfort zone … and let is pass through you like a cloud passing overhead. Now feel and enjoy your new expanded comfort zone! Therefore, by allowing yourself to feel this fear, without resisting it, hiding or stuffing it … you’ll already have taken the first action step to change your life for the best.
